Having heard that the Cheetah with two cubs did not succeed to hunt yesterday, we predicted she would be very hungry. After a nice sighting of the Rekero pride of Lions along the Olare Orok river at sunrise, including the chase of a solitary stray Wildebeests by two of the females, we went to look for the Cheetah. She was walking up and down slopes desperately looking for food, but there really wasn't much with all this tall grass. She finally saw two Thompson's Gazelles, chased them, but failed. The Masai cows forced her to retreat towards the hillside, where she rested until she saw a sizable herd of Impalas coming down to a salt lick. She positioned herself for the hunt. All seemed perfect, but I noticed that she kept looking to her left, until she ran back up the hill, making herself completely visible to the Impalas and Zebras. We could not understand at first, but then we saw a Lioness on the other bank, also coming to try to hunt the crossing Zebras. The Cheetah went to rest after a tiring day, scared and hungry. We returned to the Lions and had some nice moments at sunset. A very intense full day overall.

Avendo saputo che ieri la femmina di Ghepardo con due cuccioli non era riuscita a cacciare, abbiamo previsto che sarebbe stata molto affamata oggi. Abbiamo incontrato all'alba i Leoni del Rekero pride, lungo il fiume Olare Orok. Dopo qualche gioco e una visita al fiume, uno Gnu solitario è comparso nella prateria. Le Leonesse l'hanno inseguito a lungo ma senza riuscire a catturarlo. La ricerca del Ghepardo è stata relativamente semplice, stava camminando in cerca disperata di prede, ma nell'erba alta non ve ne era traccia. Finalmente ha trovato due Gazzelle di Thompson, le ha inseguite ma senza successo. La comparsa di una mandria di bestiame Masai l'ha costretta a ritirarsi sulla collina a riposare. Nel primo pomeriggio un gruppo di Impala è comparso, si dirigeva a una zona dove gli animali si recano per leccare il sale dal terreno. Lei si è piazzata, pronta a scattare, tutto era in ordine, ma il Ghepardo continuava a guardare alla sua sinistra. Di colpo è scappata su per la collina, rendendosi completamente visibile, e non ne abbiamo capito la ragione fino a che una Leonessa non è apparsa sull'altra sponda del fiume. Era venuta anche lei per cacciare le Zebre che attraversavano il fiume. Il Ghepardo e i suoi cuccioli sono andati a riposare nell'erba, dopo una giornata stancante, spaventati e affamati. Noi siamo tornati ai Leoni e abbiamo osservato il tramonto con loro.
